Trevor Scott, Tenor

Lyric tenor Trevor Scott recently received his Masters of Musical Arts degree in Early Music, Art Song, and Oratorio, through a joint degree program sponsored by both the Yale School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music. In September, he was appointed as a Gentleman of the Choir at the Church of St. Thomas on Fifth Ave. in New York City, where he now resides.

Recent achievements include winning First Prize in the Handel Aria Competition in Madison, WI, and receiving an Encouragement Award in the St. Louis District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition this January. In 2024, he made his professional international operatic debut, singing with the Danish National Opera in the chorus of Bohuslav Martinů’s The Greek Passion. That same summer, he was the tenor soloist in Bach’s Mass in B Minor (presented by Yale’s Schola Cantorum and Juilliard’s J415), which toured across England and Scotland. In 2023, he performed as a studio artist with the Chautauqua Opera Company, where he covered Tobias and Beadle and performed in the ensemble of their production of Sweeney Todd. Also an emerging artist in the choral world, Trevor regularly performs with Musica Sacra, Hudson Baroque, Fourth Wall Ensemble, and Yale Consort.

Upcoming engagements include a choral fellowship with the Spoleto Festival, where he will sing the tenor solos in the Mozart Mass in C Minor, as well as a performance in April of Schubert’s Die schöne Müllerin with Trevor Stephenson on the fortepiano in Madison, WI. Trevor proudly hails from St. Louis, Missouri, and is an avid cyclist; one of his life's goals is to ride his bike across all 50 states!
