Types of Gifts
One-Time Gifts
Individual gifts of any size help The Washington Chorus stay true to our mission. The two most popular times of year for annual contributions are at the end of the calendar year (December 31) and at the end of our fiscal year (June 30), but you can also donate whenever you’d like!
Recurring gifts — ||:Ostinato Society:||
The Washington Chorus’ recurring giving program, the Ostinato Society, is a convenient and affordable way to support our work. These monthly or quarterly gifts make TWC more sustainable and fund our annual commissions of new choral music. Members also receive additional benefits!
Donor Tiers & Giving Benefits
Your donor tier is determined by your entire annual giving each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30), regardless of the type of gift you make. Our donor benefits are designed to express our gratitude, demonstrate your impact, and offer you experiences to build community with other lovers of choral music. Individuals may begin taking distributions from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) as early as age 59½ but are required to begin taking them at age 72 (73 if you reach age 72 after Dec. 31, 2022). Normally, these distributions are subject to income taxes, but an IRA Charitable Rollover allows individuals age 70½ and older to donate up to $100,000 to The Washington Chorus and other charitable organizations directly from their IRA, without treating the distribution as taxable income. To qualify, contributions must go directly to a public charity. Please contact your financial advisor to initiate a gift, and we recommend that you contact your tax advisor, as we cannot provide individual tax recommendations.
