The Artistic Director sets high audition standards to ensure the quality of the Chorus. Members must audition every year. Auditions for new singers are usually held in early September and January, but basses, tenors, and altos are encouraged to submit applications at any time.
Auditions last approximately 10 minutes and consist of:
1 – prepared choral extract, your choice from the following options:
1 – prepared song (if you do not have a prepared song you may add a second choral extract)
An accompanist will be provided for you. Following the audition, singers will be notified of his or her acceptance by TWC staff via phone or email.
From time to time there are small ensemble opportunities during the season. Choristers are selected through a series of criteria, and the final decisions are made by the Artistic Director.
If you are interested in auditioning, please contact the Chorus office at (202) 342-6221, or fill out the contact form below. Your name will be added to the list for auditions and a staff member will follow up with you to schedule your audition slot once those dates are announced.
