What to prepare for your TWC audition?

Pre-screen Video Recording Requirements

Please note that we will ask for pre-screen videos from all new audition inquiries due to the size of our ensemble and the demand for auditions.

Live Audition Requirements

Auditions take about 7-10 minutes. Here is what will be asked of you at your audition:

  1. Excerpts

*Excerpt 1 - For all new auditions, please choose one of the following two:
    BRAHMS: Requiem, mov. IV (m. 1 - 62)
    MOZART: Requiem, Hostias (m. 1 - 34)

Excerpt 2 - A solo of your choosing, and any style is welcome (aria/gospel/etc). You may also sing the other selection from the provided excerpts. A pianist will be present at your audition if you wish to bring sheet music.

*For existing TWC singers, please only prepare the Brahms.

  2. Vocalization
The conductor will lead you through simple singing exercises to explore your range and sound.

  3. Sight-reading
A part of the audition will be to test your reading. To help prepare for this, sing through some hymnals or other simple 4-part pieces.
