Together, We Returned: Reflecting on 2021 & Returning To Live Performance
After a year of change and discovery unlike any other, The Washington Chorus looks back at its memorable 2021 impact, and we want to thank the trustees, staff, choristers, partners, and supporters whose engagement and contributions have been instrumental in making this positive change possible.
Some of TWC’s favorite 2021 highlights include:
Welcoming audiences back to our first live and in-person concerts in 707 days with “A Candlelight Christmas” at the Kennedy Center and Music Center at Strathmore
Appearing on the national Parade Across America broadcast to celebrate the historic inauguration of President Joseph R. Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris
Breaking new ground with our powerfully created “Resilience” digital choral experience, featuring music of Ralph Vaughan Williams, Margaret Bonds, Julian Wachner, and Rollo Dilworth in a one-of-a-kind presentation led by Artistic Director Eugene Rogers
Creating and delivering hundreds of personal music video messages for every occasion, through our Cause for Song digital music marketplace
Hearing those beautiful first sounds of singing together again, live and in person, when our Chorus first assembled in June of 2021 after fifteen months apart
