The Washington Chorus Announces Winter and Spring 2022 Live Concerts and Special Events
The Washington Chorus – DC’s most dynamic choral ensemble, led by Artistic Director Eugene Rogers and Executive Director Stephen Beaudoin – announced today its lineup of Spring 2022 live and digital choral music experiences, designed to bring our community together around the joy of discovery with choral music, words, ideas, and stories that matter more than ever.
“Our Spring 2022 live and digital music events are designed with our audience top of mind: both friends of The Washington Chorus who’ve come to our events for many years, and those new friends who haven’t yet joined us: these experiences are for you – your heart and mind, your eyes and ears; for yourself and your friends and families,” says Executive Director Stephen Beaudoin.
“From the stunning visual and musical beauty of our ‘Resilience’ digital choral experience playing the entire month of February to our June ‘Justice & Peace’ live concert with chorus and orchestra at the Kennedy Center, TWC Artistic Director Eugene Rogers and our incredible team of chorus members, artistic collaborators, and orchestra members are pouring their hearts and souls into these one-of-a-kind choral music experiences that will surprise you, and connect you to emotions, ideas, and stories that leave you changed.”
From musical meditations on concepts of “justice” and “peace” in our American democracy to a lively celebration of the next generation of musical talent, here are The Washington Chorus’ Spring 2022 programs:

TWC presents “Justice & Peace” at the Kennedy Center: live concert experience
June 12, 2022
What is it:
“Word over all, beautiful as the sky! Beautiful that war, and all its deeds of carnage, must in time be utterly lost.” These words from American poet Walt Whitman serve as a central meditation in this musical experience from The Washington Chorus (TWC): Justice & Peace. In his chorus and orchestra debut with TWC at The Kennedy Center Concert Hall, Artistic Director Eugene Rogers invites you to be part of this moving and urgent musical reflection on our time, and the vital role that both justice and peace play in creating a world where every voice is celebrated and included. The program opens with the world premiere of a new musical work for chorus and percussion by University of Michigan composer Roshanne Etezady, then moves to the DC premiere of “Justice Symphony” by Oregon composer Damien Geter, a recent composer with Washington National Opera's American Opera Initiative. The program concludes with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ stunning “Dona Nobis Pacem,” a moving piece of music for chorus, orchestra, and soloists that is a true cry for peace. Dr. Rogers leads The Washington Chorus with professional orchestra and soloists Karen Slack, soprano, in her Washington Chorus debut, and baritone Kerry Wilkerson.
