The Washington Chorus: We Raise Our Voices Against Racism

Together We Sing.png

Dear friends of The Washington Chorus,

We believe black lives matter. Institutional racism is rampant across our country. The murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless more are tragedies that cause us to grieve, to weep, to despair – and to raise our voices.

The Washington Chorus has been singing songs and creating community for 59 years now. But that community cannot live in harmony unless its members commit to being more aware of and more engaged in action against racism in all its forms.

We are dedicated to a more aware and engaged presence, and will continue to do this vital work inside the TWC community. We look forward to engaging our city and our nation in building the kind of caring, connected, and just world that is modeled through singing together.

We hold in our hearts all the pain so many are feeling at this moment, and we have hope for a better future ahead.
