In their 59th season, The Washington Chorus is adding an extra element of togetherness to their annual holiday spectacular concerts. Friends, family, and fans will be invited to sing together with the 130 plus ensemble in the debut of their holiday audience participation piece 'The Christmas Alphabet'.

Joined by the National Capital Brass, Virginia Bronze handbell choir, and special guest high school choirs, this year's presentation of "A Candlelight Christmas" (December 14 at Strathmore, and December 15 and 22 at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall) features popular songs such as “The Hallelujah Chorus” and “The Dream Isaiah Saw,” along with a magnificent candlelight carol procession and high holiday spirits.

“There is simply nothing like TWC’s Candlelight Christmas this holiday season,” says TWC Executive Director Stephen Marc Beaudoin. “The Washington Chorus’ Candlelight Christmas concerts are the pitch-perfect way to celebrate the season with friends and family. And as one of the hottest tickets in DC each holiday season, it’s always wise to buy your Candlelight Christmas tickets as soon as you can!”

TWC takes extra care to ensure these shows are family-friendly, with an inclusive spirit welcoming to all families of all backgrounds and types.

“My family absolutely loves The Washington Chorus’ Candlelight Christmas concerts!” says TWC chorister and board member Kara Morrissey, herself a mom of three young kids. “From the beautiful candlelight processional to the fun and festive carol sing-alongs, this is the TWC concert that my kids and our entire family most look forward to every holiday season. And did I mention the candy canes? Every year we leave smiling bigger and bigger.”

This year, fans have another opportunity to show up in style with our limited edition TWC Christmas Alphabet sock design, inspired by elements of our new audience participation piece "The Christmas Alphabet." Continuing our tradition of commemorating each holiday season with a unique design of fashionably festive footwear, these socks are sure to provide warm feelings as well as warm feet, with proceeds from the sock sales going to support TWC’s “Connections” community and education programs for youth and aging adults.
