Thursday, October 15, 2020 / streaming at 5 pm Eastern

Theme: “Generations”

Special guests including:

  • TWC singers Daphne Kiplinger and Dave Steadman

  • Composer Damien Geter

Creatively centering the idea that a love for music and singing together is often handed down from one generation to the next through family, teachers, and mentors, Patrick D. McCoy interviews longtime TWC members Daphne Kiplinger and Dave Steadman – who met and married through singing in The Washington Chorus, just like Daphne’s parents, Knight and Ann Kiplinger, had done decades before – and acclaimed American composer Damien Geter, who was born and raised in rural Virginia and now comes back to the DMV as a collaborator with TWC on the upcoming “Cantata for a More Hopeful Tomorrow,” which Damien composed as a commission from The Washington Chorus and premieres online on Saturday, November 14.

This “Generations” themed TWC TV episode streams at 5 pm Eastern on YouTube and Facebook on Thursday, October 15, 2020, hosted by guest host and creative producer, Patrick D. McCoy. McCoy continues the series on Thursday, October 29, 2020, interviewing three of today’s leading African-American composers, with a TWC TV episode titled “This Is Our Song!”

TWC TV is made possible by support from the HMFB Foundation, from the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities, the National Capitol Arts and US Commission on Fine Arts.
