Starting new traditions at "A Candlelight Christmas"
The Washington Chorus's "A Candlelight Christmas" is one of the DC region's most beloved holiday experiences featuring cherished Christmas classics, caroling, and our signature Candlelight processional. The heart of this show isn’t going anywhere…
But Dr. Eugene Rogers has his own style, and he's introducing some new treats to "A Candlelight Christmas" that just might become your new favorite holiday tradition.
Last year, Eugene introduced audiences to the "Reindeer Jive," a family favorite song and dance that delighted young and old patrons alike. Click on the video to the right to get a taste of the fun that comes with attending “A Candlelight Christmas”
This year, Dr. Rogers is bringing in a new piece titled “Room,” which was written by one of TWC’s very own singers, Lois Cecsarini!
Don't worry, "A Candlelight Christmas" is still very much a celebration of Christmas, and some of your old favorite traditions, such as "The Dream Isaiah Saw," aren't going anywhere.
You’ll also have the opportunity to see high schoolers join us in song onstage at each performance as part of our long cherished “Side by Side” program. This year, TWC will be joined by Reservoir High School and Stafford High School.
All we ask is that you make sure to bring an abundance of Christmas cheer to this fun and family-oriented holiday experience!
And keep an eye out… because an elf on the inside let us know that Mrs. Claus has the performances of "A Candlelight Christmas" marked on her calendar...
