The Washington Chorus - Treasurer

  • Description – Responsible for providing oversight of all financial operations of The Washington Chorus.

  • Responsibilities – These are the most important and most common job functions in this role.

    • Review and provide input on the monthly financial reports prepared by staff prior to presentation the finance committee and Board.

    • Review and provide input on the annual budget proposed budget prepared by staff by staff.

    • Oversee the selection the independent auditor, review and approve the annual audit. Provide recommendations and input to staff, finance committee and Board on all elements of the financial operations.

  • Skills – These skills are important to success in this role.

    • Knowledge and experience and demonstrated competence in corporate and/or non-profit financial practices and operations. An independent fiduciary perspective, rigor in reviewing financial documents and reports, ability to both coach staff and constructively provide input and challenge when required.

  • Time Commitment – On average, 8 hours per month in this role.
