"Joyfully Together" - A New Washington Chorus and Wolf Trap Community Powered Singing Celebration

With the power of singing together to celebrate, heal, and connect, The Washington Chorus and Wolf Trap are proud to announce the launch of a new community powered choral singing celebration this September 18, 2022, 5 pm onward, live and in person at the Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.

This singing celebration, titled “Joyfully Together,” is Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts' new vocally powered, community showcasing event celebrating the power of singing to strengthen community, provide inspiration, and promote healing

Led by The Washington Chorus’s Artistic Director Dr. Eugene Rogers as festival Artistic Director, “Joyfully Together” features a wonderfully diverse mix of regional vocal ensembles who will contribute their unique voices across many styles and genres, as well as some starry soloists. Ensembles and soloists will be announced in late spring of 2022.

“On behalf of all of us at The Washington Chorus, we’re delighted to be partnering with our friends at Wolf Trap to produce this powerful new community singing event,” commented TWC Artistic Director Eugene Rogers. “When we come together in song, so many beautiful things can happen with our community. Joined by my colleague and friend, TWC Executive Director Stephen Beaudoin, I want to express our total joy in working with the exceptional team at Wolf Trap to create this new festival of singing and choirs. We hope ‘Joyfully Together’ will serve as an emotional and cultural touchstone event for thousands of audience members from across the region.”

Fully assembled, “Joyfully Together” anticipates an astounding 8,000 singers who will perform in the Filene Center, the flagship performance venue at Wolf Trap. Performers will be featured on the storied venue's stage and in the Orchestra seating area to accommodate the various performers of all ages and musical backgrounds.

Arvind Manocha, President and CEO of Wolf Trap, had this to say about this important new collaborative community singing event:

“At Wolf Trap, we value our role in helping to bring people together in a beautiful, natural setting -- perhaps now more than ever as we continue to emerge from the challenges of the last two years.  We also know how strong the human instinct is to get together with others and sing.  For thousands of years, singing together has created bonds between people, while reducing stress and promoting a sense of belonging.  We’re so honored to collaborate with the Washington Chorus and renowned conductor Dr. Eugene Rogers in this community powered celebration of the power of the human voice, and we look forward to the joyful sound of thousands of members of our community united in song.”

Participation will be open to already existing and assembled vocal ensembles and will be free for all performers. General Admission tickets will be available for $10 for non-performers. If you would like your ensemble to participate, please complete this form and submit your information. Wolf Trap staff will follow up with more information, to answer any questions, and help arrange your seating location.
