Celebrate the influence Bernstein and his contemporaries had on each other and on modern day composers with a vocal tour de force. Works by Randall Thompson, Michael Tippett, Louise Talma, Aaron Copland and Leonard Bernstein showcase the impressive vocal power of the unaccompanied chorus.
We join the National Symphony Orchestra at Wolf Trap for a performance of one of the most magnificent musical works ever created. Conducted by Bramwell Tovey, featuring soloists Yelena Dyachek (soprano), Zoie Reams (mezzo-soprano), Richard Trey Smagur (tenor), and Thomas Glass (baritone). Also on the program, the sensational pianist Inon Barnatan performs Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto.
