Auditions

The Music Director has set high audition standards to ensure the quality of the Chorus. The current membership must audition every year. Auditions for new singers are usually held during the summer months, early September, and occasionally in early January. The audition process involves vocalizing, sight-singing, and tonal memory exercises – no prepared work is required. Following the audition, singers will be notified of his or her acceptance by TWC staff via phone or email.

The Washington Chorus rehearses on Monday evenings at National Presbyterian Church on Nebraska Avenue in Northwest DC. The Church is accessible by Metro bus and rail. Other rehearsals may be scheduled throughout the season. Most typically there are two orchestral rehearsals prior to each performance.

From time to time there are small ensemble opportunities during the season. The choristers are selected though a series of criteria. The decision is made by the Music Director.

If you are interested in auditioning, please contact the Chorus office at (202) 342-6221.
